Granted I have no played the game or read anything about the way the game is actually played, Fury looks like nothing more than a 1v1 button mashing fest with shitty/glitchy animation and outdated graphics.

Hopefully I will be proved wrong.

Haven't played Fury yet (not trying to turn this into fury off-topic thread), but what I really miss there are counters. I didn't really see any counters... I mean, it's dmg vs dmg, some buffs, everything "brute-force" style. No mesmer-like actions which would require a lot more thinking and adapting to other peoples playstyle and exploiting weaknesses. Then again, hate to say it but GW is kinda too like that lately, mesmers don't counter anything really, they spam the same skills in every game. They are not anti-caster or anti-melee, it's all about diversion diversion diversion diversion.. and their Inspiration line has been totally killed. People take eles for e-management instead of mesmers. It's sad, really.

Fury is horrible, that ship is destined for the sea floor. It sounded like a great idea though; take Guild Wars, remove all the PvE, have more skill slots, and take the adrenaline mechanic to the next level - there are 4 counters instead of 1 (2 of which are opposed, so you only need to keep track of 2). Even gear plays a role, although it is balanced around a point system so that there is a limit to how uber anyone can be. Sounds great, right?

While it sounded great in theory, it just doesn't work very well in practice, it's a completely unsatisfying experience in almost every respect, and, bizarrely there is huge huge grind for unlocking items. Also, the performance and the graphics are horrid.

I noticed some offtopic in the other thread - Fury related offtopic. I moved all the posts regarding fury to this thread ( and offtopic forum ). Use it if you wish to discuss that game further.

LoL didn't mean for this to turn into a serious discussion but ok here goes.

Fury does build off the adrenaline system of "charges." Yes, it can get boring because honestly its more simplistic than GW's system.

The graphics are not has good but gives a crap. Do people play Counter strike for the "graphics" or the other endless GREAT titles for the graphics. Some the best games in history have the worst graphics ever. Moving on.

GW needs to realize that there is some serious competition out there ready and willing to borrow "inspiration" from GW for their game mechanics. Anet just doesn't give a crap about PvP in GW.

They complained about needing 7-8 people on hand all day to do the GWFC. 1 person for skill balance (Izzy) shows how much they really care. Problem with GW is imo doesn't have the money to keep up with PvP and the TLC it really needs on a day to day basis. (remember this is my opinion but some what based on facts)

Automated tournaments and titles are cheaper to manufacture while continuing to pull in profit. Now that GWEN is out I expect things to get much worst. No new chapter to pull in sales. Now GW is completely relying on a new generation of players to buy the game (meaning kids becoming of age to play). The problem with this system is more likely more old players selling accounts. Recycling of accounts is obviously undercutting GW's bottom line.

In the end my hopes are high but from a business stand point I don't know how Anet is going to pull this off. Even if its an inferior game to GW if the devs pay any attention to the community and players people will stay. People are surprisingly loyal long as you give them even 5 minutes a day. An automated email response doesn't count.

Rant out.

Fury is simply damage vs damage.....its a RPG/FPS and there are better FPS and guild wars is still the better rpg. If your going to be a rpg, pvp like an rpg...fury violates that rule in so many ways.

Its sad that Guild Wars is going out like a candle as far as pvp is concerned. Anet has to actually MARKET their pvp sector with REAL tournments....but oh well.

Signed up for beta, then it never started on schedule and never heard anything for ages and felt like ANET all over again. Never looked back.

Oh, really? I never got that idea. I always thought it was ANet's thing to start things 1/2 hour early, or something to that effect. And as for Fury, I'm thinking poorly done Guild Wars mock-up.

the main problem iwth fury besides poor performance, balance, rushing the game, graphics, armor grind, all stuff that will prolly be fixed come retailt, as that they're still using the same basic types of skills RPGs use with an adreniline based system. this means certian skills quickly become very hard to balance ( buffs ) and that you simply can't have the same system you do in other RPGs.

the all adreniline would work, its just they must do skills and make the tactics and mind games come out in other features than just dmg.

Another thing you might not know about Fury is that he is a human character the "Astonishing X-Men" comic series.
